Of course Ballard is my married name, but I have done some research on my husband's family. I have been able to go back to James W Ballard born around 1808 in North Carolina. He married Nancy Johnson who was born about 1807. They had six sons and one daugther. John Marion was the third child and were my husband's line comes from.
