Hi Mary
I spoke to one of my Aunts that spent some time in Ireland. She lived with Michael Davern and his wife Agnus in Linerick on Ellen St. I believe that Michael was a brother of Johnjoe and my Grandfather Richard.

My Aunt gave me several other sister's names as well. Bridgit (Bridie), Hanna and Elizabeth(Lizzie}. My Aunt said Nonie was married to a Ned Roach (man in your parent's wedding picture?)I think they lived in a place called Mitchelstown where there was a large dairy. They had three children Michael, Mollie and Peggy. My Aunt said that Johnjoe's wife's name was Mollie so I thought the one daughter was named after her grandmother. I'm confused on this point because you said your grandmother's name was Mary

I'll continue with what I learned.
Bridie married a man with the last name Slattery. Your Grandad's brother Michael who lived in Limerick was married to Agnus they had twin girls Christine and Agnus and another daughter named Angela.

I have been able to name 7 children so far, this includes our Grandfathers Johnjoe and Richard. I'm not sure of the other three names. My Aunt thought there might have been a brother that became a priest and went to the States. She said her mother met a Priest who came home for a funeral. She thought he was from Kansas which matches up with another post about a Priest named Ray but the Date of birth for him in the post is 1935 which I think would be the next generation which would make him a cousin to your Dad and my Mom.

I have trouble sometimes keeping the generations apart. I know there were three Michaels, your dad, his uncle and I believe he had a cousin named Michael Roach the son of Nonie and Ned.

I don't know anything about the big wedding. We were there in 62 but I was only about 18 months old. My Grandmother passed away the following year. When we went my mom said her mother had a great time and that was where she had spent her honeymoon. My parents came to Canada in 1955. My Grandfather Richard passed away while my mother was sailing to Canada. He was only 47 years old.

Are you still wondering if we are related or are you more convinced?

Dan
