I'm confidant our Grandfathers were brothers. I believe that it was your cousin's name I was given at the pub. I actually went up to the cottage and knocked on the door but no one answered. This was about10 years ago.
My mom and grandmother visited Ballylanders in 1962. I was left with relatives in Limerick. At the time your Grandfather had two Greyhounds.
My Mom mentioned that your Dad had a sister named Nonie who had a son named Michael last name Roach. He moved to London. She mentioned that a cousin named Michael came over to Manchester but only stayed for a short time. She said he was very shy. I don't know if this was your dad because she mentioned another Michael Davern that she thought was from Ellen St. in Limerick.
I need to sit down with all her sisters and learn more details. If you have questions I can ask but I don't know how much they will know. I think her youngest sister Eveline may have stayed in Ballylanders for a short time.
My mom said one of her sisters has a picture of the family in front of the cottage. If I can find it I'll scan it and make arrangements to E-mail you a copy.
Thank You for responding
