Hello Mary

I believe your Grandfather is my Grandfather's brother. Ricard Davern moved to Manchester where he married Amy Brown. They had 4 daughters Doreen (my mum), Norah, Thelma and Eveline. I had previously been in touch with contacts in the US tracing Davern family tree but they said they were a different branch.

I have visited Ballylanders and the cemetery where I saw Johnjoe's grave. My mom described the cottage that my Grandfather grew up in but I'm not sure if I was looking at the correct house. There were three similar looking houses. It was on the way out of town (not sure what direction). I had to cross the road and then go down a short distance before I could take the road up to the cemetery.

I asked in a pub if they knew if anyone lived in the area related to my Grandfather and although your Granddad had already passed away years before they mentioned his name. They mentioned that a descendant was still living in the house but had a different last name.

My mom and her sisters moved to Canada but I have cousins on my dad's side living in Limerick.

Dan
