son of Salvatore Bart Davi "IL Fundatore" and Giovanna Pellegrini.
Sal...Son of Angela Billeci b.1812 and Girolamo"Momo" Davi b.1802. Son of
Rosa Angela Cardinale b.1764 and Antonino Davi b.1761.
Son of
Maddalena Partinico and Bartolomeo Davi(Torretta) b.1730 They only had 1 Child Antonio and just from him and Rosa came a HUGE Clan! It is thought that Bartolomeo was a brick layer, but he may have actually been a Free Mason.
It is believed that "Davi" originated as Jews in Spain and were kicked out in the 1500's "Ghettos" were forming in Southern Italy and Sicily around that time so it could be.
Your Clan is referred to as the PanzaRica Clan.

Antonino (Nino) Davi (1866-1946)
Angelina (1869-1953)
Victorio "Vito" (18??-1944)
Melichiora Nora (1876-1953)
Beneditto "Nitto" (1878-1949)

Girolimo married Angela Siino(1863-1937)(my gg grandparents)
Their children were:
Salvatore (1887-1960) (my g grandfather)
John (1893-1947)
Bernard (Barney) (1894-1933)
Horace (1899-1965)
Neno (1899-1965)
Victor (1903-1948)
David (1904-1970)

Salvatore married Grace Constanza
Their children were:
Angelina who married Neno Cataldo
James married Victoria Daniele (my grandparents)
and had a son Charles (formally adopted by stepafather)

My parents are Charles (Chuck) Bertoglio & Particia Coray.

I think we may be related. My paternal grandfather was James Davi of Pittsburg, CA & my grandmother was Victoria (nee Daniele). Their son, Charles Bertoglio, is my father (took stepfathers last name). If we are related I would love to know more about our family history.

I have a hard copy of a geneology chart from the family of Salvatore Davi & Giovanna Pellegrini which may give us more points of reference.

Not Sure if anybody looks at this thread, but my g g grandfather was named Giuseppe Davi. You stated that your great grandfather was Emanuel. Mine was Vito. Just wondering if Giuseppe had more than one son???

hi, I am looking information about my ancestor called: DAVI SALVATORE.
Unfortunately I am not in a lot of information about him.
The news in my possession is the following:
- Davi Salvatore's family was from ISOLA DELLE FEMMINE;
- Davi Salvatore probably was born in the year 1880-1900;
- Davi Salvatore was born in Palerm-Sicily-(or in a council of the province, maybe Isola delle Femmine);
- The Davi Salvatore that I search has developed the lever service in Venice or in the vicinity;
- I know that in 1918 was under the weapons;
- Davi Salvatore's family went in USA (California) and Davi Salvatore too.

Looking for anyone is related to the Davi's that came to USA in early 1900's. I show my gggranparents Mariano & Guiseppa Davi coming from Palermo in 1908 to East RutherfordNJ where their son was staying. They eventually ended in Brooklyn not before living in Manhattan, and the Bronx(the children). Their children are Concetta(my ggrandma), Marianna, Luigi, Gioacchino, Salavatore, Guiseppa, and Dorotea could be Giacomo too but cannot tell yet. Concetta moved to NY to Bronx and finally to brooklyn where she lived the rest of her life. I know her sisters and brothers mostly ended up in Bklyn also. Hello my ggrandfather was Mariano Davi , he was brn abt. 1846 in Palermo i have gotten this info immgration records coming into NY in 1908. His wife Guisseppa Calombo children who came were Concetta(my ggrandmother), Marianna, and Luigi. He had sons here looks like they lived in East Rutherford NJ in 1908 I know one son was giocchnnio? (Jack) . They lived in The Bronx < NYC < and finally settling in Brooklyn . any info is appreciated. toni

Rosetta and I unfortunately cannot help you. Our father Giovanni Battista is in the USA since approx. 1964 and is from Toretta, Sicily. He is only in his mid 60's. If you read more of the boards, there is a lady by the name of Theresa who is really into geneology and I think I remember reading she has a grandfather named Giuseppe.

We are interested in the current whereabouts of Barbara (Lynn or Jean) DAVI, daughter of Philip and Margaret DAVI. They lived in Groton, New London County, CT, when we knew them in the early- to mid-1970s. She had two elder brothers, Sal(vatore?) and Philip (Jr.?) and several younger siblings. My Davi line begins and, unfortunately, ends
with Maria Antonia Davi. DOB @1795. She married
Stefano Scalici and they had at least 5 kids
who I have been able to trace thru the birth, marriage and
death index films for Palermo. Because she was
born and married before the indexes began I
have not been able to find any sibblings of
hers. I am not even sure of her DOB because I
found another child that may be theirs who was born
@1795 whose death was recorded in the indexes
and whose age at time of death in 1868 as 73 yrs old.
That would make him born in 1795.
I will have to order and scan films for church
records. Right now I am going over the films
for the little towns surrounding Palermo that
weren't included in the indexes. Slow going.

My grandfather was George Capacio.
In my research I was told that when he came to America they added the letter o to his name, so his real name is Capaci.
Also his cousins have that name. His father was Pietro Capaci born in Sicily.

Mi chiamo Gina Guadagno. Mia sorella si chiama Rosetta. Abitiamo in Brooklyn. Mio padre e venuto in America in 1960's. Si chiama Giovanni Battista Davi. Adesso lui abita a California ed e' cuoco.

Io sono Americana pero' ho studiato la lingua italiana. Parlo sempre con la famiglia nostra qua e in Italia. Ci sono due zie che sono in Italia. Si chiamano Nina e Francesca. Gli altri zii sono qui in Queens: Calogero, Salvatore e Rosalia.
Ci sono anche cugine che stanno qui. In Brooklyn c'e' Rosetta, figlia di Francesca, e Angela, figlia di Rosalia che stanno vicino da me.
