Hello Colleen,
Thanks for the post. Always nice meeting new distant cousins which I believe we maybe. Jean David and Marie Magdelaine Monmellian were my 6th great grandparents. You might call me the Jean David family historian. In any case, I'll need more information from your family line to determine how our 2 families are related. Jean and Marie Magdelaine did have a son named Etienne Thomas born 1730 and died 1733 at the Fortress of Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Their 2nd son, Michel David and his wife Genevieve Hebert, migrated to New Orleans in 1766. For the next 3 generations the family thrived from Convent to Saint Martinville to New Iberia, LA. I believe our David family lines converge or branch out from New Iberia. Please contact me at ejdavid2@mindspring.com and we can try to figure out if and how our families are related.
