Hi,My grandmother was a registered Stockbridge-Munsee Indian. Her father was Henry Davids ,born in New York. According to a Us Census report. A cousin of mine has a letter from some agency with her information. I looked up Native American Indians on the internet and found Stockbridge-Munsee. They were from the Mohican Tribe From Stockbridge ,Mass. They are not to be confused with Mohigans.
There is a n entire history print out you can get by looking this up.It tells the whole story of their past. My Grandmother was the 5th of 16 children. She was born in Calumet ,county ,Wis.I believe her mother`s name was Elvira,My Mother was born in LaCrosse ,Wis. Her name was Greeta Bell Orton. She moved to California.in 1930.Let me know a little of your history,we may be cousins. Try looking up the Indians on the internet. It is really interesting.
Sincerely, Floernce McCarter
