Do you have Martin's exact date of birth?
I did find Martin's passenger record and it does seem that he arrived in Boston in July 1912. I have not found evidence that he cleared immigration or customs. He was listed to be meeting a friend who lived in Roslindale.
He does not seem to appear on the Massachetts death records between 1912 and 1915. If he died shortly after arriving, either his name was not known, or he moved on to another state.
The only person with a similar name and birth date and place to register for the WW I draft was a Martin Davidson, born 19 July 1876 in Norway. He was married to a Signe and living in Virginia, St. Louis County, Minnesota. He is seen with Signe in 1920 and 1930 census where he is still only man who fits the age and birth details. Martin and Signe married about 1912-1913 based on birth of first child.
I hope this helps.
