Hi, Lynn, no I am not a descendant but I love to study the Revolutionary war and all Davis records related to same. My Daniel Davis was born in Chester Co, PA 1759 and I have spent some 41 years trying to find his parents.
During that time I have accumulated a lot of Davis info and tried to organize it in a wonderful database we have developed.
I wrote the "Davis Directory of Pennsylvania" trying to dispense some of information I accumulated.
My suspected family:
1. Martha Davis b 1743 m John McNeal/McNeil
2. William Davis ba 1755 (Spring 1778 li Bedford Co, VA with his family when Daniel served as substitute in Militia under Genl Andrew Lewis)
3. Daniel Davis b 11 Feb 1759 Chester Co, PA d 1838 Cabell Co, VA possibly m 2. (?) because his 1st wife is dead when he applied for pension in which he stated his partner in old age (can't put my hands on where I found that but think it might have been application to VA legistlature.)
m Elizabeth Stephenson b 15 June 1756 d 12 March 1817 (?)
4. Nancy Davis ba 1761 d bef 26 Aug 1833 Cabell Co, VA
m 08 June 1779 John Gilkerson, Rockingham Co, VA
You are researching MA and I am researching VA/WV & PA.
Thanks for your reply. I haven't worked on this for 10 years because I got so burned out but now I am back.
Thanks, Lynn for the reply.
