DEATH OF A YOUNG WOMEN
April 22 1896 The Wellsboro Agitator in Wellsboro, Pa.
Miss Cecelia A Davis, who for the past year or more had been failing in health, died of consumption on the 5th instant at the home of her sister, Mrs. Daniel E. Bowen in Charleston. She was nearly 31 years of age.
Miss Davis was born at Morris Run, June 13 1865, being the daughter of Thomas and Mary Davis. Her parents moved to Missouri where Mr.Davis died. The mother then returned to Blossburg with her family and there they resided many years. During the past 11 years Miss Davis had resided at Welsh Settlement in Charleston where she made herself beloved by her many excellent characteristics; She was attractive, amiable, cheerful, warmhearted and unselfish. Her life was pure and she assumed responsibilities beyond her year and nobly performed her part. This fact is beautifully illustrated in the lives of others now growing into intelligent useful manhood; due in a large measure to her devotion, influence and example. To them her memory will be blessed.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Rees of Arnot and Rev Mr.Jones of Blossburg and the remains were laid to rest in the Welsh Settlement cemetery. The floral tributes from many loving friends were profuse and beautiful.
