John Davis, b. ca 1780 in Pennsylvania, m. Priscilla Duvall;
one of their sons was Robert L. Davis, b. KY, m. Sarah Meranda; Robert was a farmer in Scott County, IN; one of their sons was Melville Hester Davis, b. Scott County, IN, served in Civil War and m. Mary Teresa House; one of their sons was Julian Leonidas Davis, b. Scott County, IN, m. Georgiana Amick.
