MANSFIELD: Alton "Boot" Davison Jr., 61, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
Alton was born on Saturday, May 13, 1950 to the late Alton and Queen Easter Williams Davison Sr. in Mansfield, Ohio.
He was a lifetime resident and known to the Mansfield, Ohio community as "Boot". Boot worked at Empire Detroit Steel of Mansfield for over 40 years until his retirement in 2009 and was also a member of the United Steel Workers Local 169.
Boot enjoyed watching all sports especially the Ohio teams (Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and the Indians).
His family was a very focal part of his life and he enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Boot was also very well known for his culinary skills. Many of his family members and friends in the Mansfield community attended his cookouts that included his famous ribs.
He leaves to cherish all memories a daughter Rache (Myron) Webb of Mansfield, Ohio; a son Master Seargent Roderick (Angela) Davison of Fayetteville, NC; seven grandchildren Jacari, Jacquem, Asmani, Rakeenan, Kyrstyen, Roderick and Trey; three brothers Adrian Davison Sr., Eddie (Ora Jean) Davison and LaMonte (Cathy) Davison Sr. all of Mansfield; a former wife who he remained friends Mardell Davison of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Alton is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 1:00 in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel with Elder Henry Bradley officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral services.
The family will also receive friends at 791 Floral Court of Mansfield from 5-8 pm until the day of funeral services.
