I have recently been researching my father's ancestry and have discovered that he was born Michael Joseph Devitt, son of Henry Devitt and Teresa Queenan in 1924. I have no information on Henry however, I know that Teresa was born and brought up in the Bogline, Drumfin. My father, Michael, was brought up by a Riverstown family and not by Devitt/Queenan. Due to the closeness of the two areas I wonder if there could be any connections.

I have had some success in doing the paper trail for my father including a baptism certificate showing Devitt/Queenan as being the parents and his childhood being under the guardianship of the Callaghan's of Riverstown. I have also managed to get in touch with an elderly gentleman who knew my father in childhood and he confirms that he knew that Devitt/Queenan where his natural parents and that he was brought up by the Callaghan's.

Any information that you could give me would be very much appreciated.
