My G grandmother was Caroline DAVY who married William Wilkins on 8 Oct 1840 at St Brides Major, Glamorgan. She was born at St Brides Minor, Glamorgan on 22 Sept 1822 to Leyson Hopkin Davy and Elizabeth (nee Lawrence).

Does anyone know more of the Davy family?

For example, I suspect Edwin Davy, a surveyor, may have been a brother to Caroline. An Edwin Davy migrated to Auckland NZ where he taught my grandfather George Wilkins the rudiments of surveying. Was it uncle teaching his young nephew? In 1868 the two then joined in part-owning a gold mine in NZ. Ah, the wonders of family history.
