Hi Lyn, I have not got further back than William and Elizabeth either. I am also descended from Thomas Davy and Maria Mean through their son Isaac, your John's older brother. I was wondering if there is any family tradition in your family that the Davy's were from Wales? Obviously the record doesn't support this, unless several generations before being in Suffolk they were in Wales.
