Margaret, I asked about evidence of a marriage, which seems to me to be a reasonable request, on a geneology forum & you said you had proof. I emailed you as you requested, & received the reply below.

I need to know a lot more about you before I share. My relations from Elizabeth and those descended from Thomas and Grace are all agreed on this We had a family conference about this yesterday, and there are over 40 adults.
So Alice who are you?
Are you a relative?
Are you a writer?
I need to speak with you, but I am out most of today.
When I know more I will give you a contact number. Margaret

Margeret, I'm a non professional Geneologist who has family in Madron & surrounding area, including many Davy's although I've never found a Humphry Davy link, my grandmother said there was a relationship between our families & as so I've set out a Humphry Davy family tree from my own research & I am also interested in HD from a historic point of view, as I am also a history buff.

I've read your posts & ebook with interest, but not once have I seen any evidence or sources quoted, which for me is most important. Word of mouth can give us some important clues, but alone is not enough, when one would expect their to be some concrete evidence.

If your William Escott did marry Elizabeth Mary Davy as you say, their must be a marriage certificate or some census evidence, surely? While I have searched, I can find none but was hoping this is what you would provide. While my previous research shows Elizabeth Mary's death from BMD index & it has also been stated that she died of TB in 1858 & that John Miles Davy & Humphry Davy John & Margaret's youngest sons died of Scarlet fever in infancy.

Going back to your ebook, some facts which seem to be incorrect, such as Humphry being 28 years older than John (I belive he was 12 years older) & Elizabeth Mary Davy being borm in Ambleside in 1833 (I believe she was born in Malta & have an 1832 DOB).

I do not need to make personal contact & I am not interested in personal family information but I do think that as we are dealing with a great historical figure, it's important that the facts are correct & as so sources need to be quoted.
