Unfortunately I have not established this connection as yet. Irish records are hard to come by as you would know. In fact I have not even got the birth record for my ancestor John Winterscale Davys connecting him to Edmond Soden Davys & Mary Winterscale. It was not on his death certificate & I can't find his birth certificate in Ireland. I just have it from material I received from Margaret Morgan in NZ that this was researched by others. However, I do have the index record for the marriage of Edmond Davys & Mary Winterscale in Sligo in 1823 from the Irish Family History Foundation (IFHF) website, but I haven't got the certificate yet as it costs 5 pounds & would only give their names anyway. The last piece of info I have from Margaret Morgan is that one fo the NZ Davys' visited Ireland in the early 20th C & met two old aunts -Bessie & Margaret & they can be found (along with a few other siblings/relatives) in the 1901 & 1911 Census's for Sligo. So I am still working on it, but the IFHF website has none of their birth records. IGI (the pilot site) has a lot of records for their various births & deaths but no parent details there - just the records numbers which could be used to ge the original certificates but I have not got that far as yet.

Regards
Robert
