Hedley Benjamin Davy was the son of Edward Davy and Lousia A McKenzie of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Edward Davy was the son of Thomas and Dorothy Goss Davy. Thomas was born in London in 1813 and married Dorothy in Barnstaple Parish Church in Devon in 1838.
They emigrated to PEI in about 1840-41. Thomas was a Blacksmith, Edward was a city councilman and wood inspector. He never left the Island as most of his brothers did.
Marguerite Adell Hurrell (Daisy) arrived in Halifax NS in 1914 with her parents, William and Sarah Elizabeth (Couling) Hurrell and her brother Frederick on the SS Digby. She married Hedley Benjamin in 1920. Her brother married Stella Flynn in 1937.
My great grandfather, George Davy, born in Barnstaple, Devon in 1839, was the oldest son of Thomas and Dorothy.
I've sent you a private message and look forward to hearing from you.
