Searching for documented proof of parents of Howell Dawdy (Dowdy, Daudy, etc.). Have been led to believe (DAR Application on file) that he was probably born in NJ c. 1747. His wife was Phoebe, and both of them are buried near Lynchburg, TN. He served in the NC Militia during the Revolution.
