Surnames: In England - Dawe, Leming, Jackson, Dewhurst, Ranson
Joyce, My great grandfather, Alfred John Dawe was born in Camelford, Cornwall on 11 Jan 1872. That has been verified. HIs father was Richard; his mother Jane Leming, both born in 1841. Alfred's (Danny or Fred) siblings were Percy Vivian (b.1885), Albert Henry (b. 18875) and Bessie (b. 1862). Except for AJ, I don't know where the others were born. Albert John moved to Yorkshire, built a family, including grandchildren, and they all emigrated to the US (Michigan first, although AJ died in California) via Ontario, Canada. Percy Vivian had family come to the US, but I don't know if he did. Don't know about the others. Alfred and/or his father (and others) worked in the mines. Let me know if we have any connections. Thanks, Judy L. Dawe
