YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at St. Andrewes A.M.E. Church for Mrs. Willie Mae Gupton, 90, who departed this life Sunday, May 16, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Gupton was born March 17, 1920, in Oxford, North Carolina, (Granville, County) a daughter of Fred and Sarah Blaylock Daye.
She was a presser for Service Masters, a member of the St. Andrewes A.M.E. Church church and its No. 1 Steward Board.
Her husband, Frank Gupton, whom she married Oct. 18, 1937, and who died Aug. 3, 1996.
She leaves her grandchildren, Denise Neal Davis of Chicago, Kitty (Rickie) Monroe of Girard, Ohio and Philip (Ann) Anderson of Tampa, Fla.; 12 great-grandchildren, including Barbara Ann Davis, her caregiver of Youngstown; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Susan Daye; a brother, Eddie (Leola) Daye, both of Youngstown, Ohio; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Daye of Newark, N.J.
Her parents; a daughter, Barbara Anderson; siblings, Fred Daye, Hazel Wilson, Alice Daye and Sarah Bowden, preceded her in death.
A viewing will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
