Nancy,

I was looking around on the message boards and happened upon another post of yours about Samuel Haines Dayman being in Selena's phonebook. Samuel Haines Dayman is my grandfather! I am the daughter of his only daughter. His wife, my grnadmother was Ruth W Dayman (maiden name was Price) from Philadelphia. She and Samuel moved to MD sometime in the 50's I believe. They owned an old plantation near Fort Meade. My grandpa, Samuel passed away November of 1970 when my mom was 8. He and Ruth also had 3 boys. William, Greg and Theodore. When I saw your post, I almost cried! I obviously never met him, and my mom has a hard time talking about him since she was so young when he passed. I believe my grandmom said he died from cancer. She is gone too now. Passed in Dec 2006.

Definetly would love to hear from you!

Liz

Yes my g-g grandfather was the son of Peter Dayman and Ann Allin. There were 5 children in the family: William, Phillip Allan, Peter, Ralph Bramwell, Alice and Ann. Peter brought them from Cornwall, England around 1840.

I have a copy of a letter that was written by Edwin Dayman (son of Ralph Bramwell) saying they orignally came from Bude, a farm named Pigsden close to Bendle.

Apparently they were preceded by Peter's nephew John who became John Dyment when he arrived in Canada.

I am looking for ancestry of Sanford Diamond b. c. 1821.

He arrived in Hastings County, Ontario about 1840 or so.
He may have changed the spelling of his surname about then as there were some prominant Diamond families there.

He first married Mary Salisbury 1844. She died about or after 1855.

Sanford next married Catherine Groves in 1863.

There were five-six children from each marriage.

There families are listed as Methodist.

Thank you.

Maggie
