I was born in Brooklyn, NY. My father, Thomas Francis, was born in Rubble, Killasser, Swinford, Co. Mayo, Ireland. His father was Martin Deacy (whose name may actually have been James Martin Deacy. His father was Thomas Deacy, from Tirananny (near Rubble),Killasser, Swinford, who was married to an Elizabeth McDonald. I'm in the process of trying to gather more info myself, but a large portion of the family came to America, and settled in the Chicago area (of which I have more info). This info may be of some help to you. Perhaps we'll get a chance to make contact and exchange more info.

My GG Grandfather JOHN DEACY (b:1835 Ireland) married BRIDGET (Munn?) (b:1840 Ireland)Children: Martin 1864, Thomas 1869, Ellen 1869, John 1872, William 1875. I believe they lived In wisconsin and then Iown them possibly lower Minnesota.
Ellen married John Dominic Pierce 1889

There are quite a few Deacy/Deacey/Deasy/Deasey family members from Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo Ireland. My great great grandmethr Sarah Deacey is among them. You should go to the Kiltimagh mailing list here at Rootsweb and check the archives. Good luck

Any info on family of Dacey/Deasey, James Ellen (possibly O'Brien) whose daughter Elln born about 1865 was sent to Philadelphia to work for Mim Crowley/Cowley in a milk plant, and then migrated to NYC where she married John Collins about 1890.
