Trying to trace the roots of my Deans who came from the Bushmills Portballintrae area. My GGrandfather John Dean moved to Belfast either as a child with his parents or as a teenager looking for work as a bricklayer. I beleive he had a brother called Charlie who also lived in the Shankill Road area of Belfast. John married Rachel Robinson of Cambria Street Belfast circa 1900, over the years they lived in Northland St, Broom St and finally Connaught St where he passed in 1939. Their Children were, Jack, Albert, David,Charles, Agnes(my grandmother) Nancy(Nan Shields), Jinnie(Taggart) and Rachel(Kane).
I think his Grandfather was a brother of Samuel Deane of Bushmills who was married to Matilda Chestnut. I feel that some names have not been registered as in the case of Annie Dean (Versace) who was a sister of Martha Dean (McAlister) daughters of Samuel Dean and Matilda.
