Hello Donna, I just found out that I'm the cousin of Pamela Deans on July 5th, 2003. We met in Murfreesboro Frist Baptist Church during our first family reunion. I am the grandson of Lesile Deans Sr.the nephew of Linwood Deans. Our family is from a plantation called Princeton in Northhampton, NC. It was incorporated the same day as Murfreesboro(June 6, 1787), which is no more than four miles away. We are the descendents of black slaves and "Meherrin" Indians( which means the people of the muddy waters). There are excellent records and historical information kept in the Jackson library in Jackson county, North Carolina. There were several slave owners in the area with many slaves, but their name was spelled "Deanes". My Grandfather's parents were Fannie Deans(she was a indian) and Ed Jordan, that never married. My Gandmother was Mary Elizabeth (Deans) Hampton the daughter of Ada and Gene Hampton. I would love to share more information with you-please reply.
