My grandfather, Linwood Deans, and his wife, Lula Mae (Barnes) Deans moved to Wayne, PA sometime in the late 1930s or early 1940s. They came from Murfreesboro, NC. I know that my grandfather left brothers and sisters in North Carolina. One daughter, Honey (probably a nickname), was left in a mental institution in North Carolina. She was married and had children that were raised by their paternal grandmother. That is all of the information I have on family that may exist in NC. My father, George Thomas Deans, was the 11th out of 13 children born to Linwood and Lula Mae in Murfreesboro. He passed away on January 26, 1989 at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his siblings: James Deans, Honey Deans, Evelyn (Deans) Gordy. Since my father's (George)death, William, Odis, Claude, and Elton have passed on. Elbert (Atlanta,GA), Lillian Johnson (Phila, PA), Gertrude Reed(Lawnside, NJ), Ella Mae Francis (Phila, PA), and Reverand Margaret Rose Floyd are still living.
