Hi everyone. I am Albion's Historian (Albion Michigan, Calhoun County). NOT RELATED. Buried here in Riverside Cemetery in the Dearin/Dearing family lot is John Dearin, born 1781, died Jan 25, 1856. He was the son of John and Annie Maria Lawton Dearing. Home he married in 1804 in Dutchess Co., NY. Johns wife was Anna Van Keuren (1784-1841). The Dearin's came to Sandstone township, Jackson county Michigan from Dutchess County in Sept, 1837. There were numerous descendants, and the name was changed to DEARING (with the "g" added). In Jackson County there is a Dearing Road name after the family. There is a Dearing family lot here in Riverside Cemetery where John is buried, and also a Dearing Cemetery by the original family homestead there on Dearing Road in Jackson County. Some of the Dearings moved to Albion where they became prominent in banking and manufacturing up to 1912. There are photographs of them locally, and other information. Feel free to contact me for further inquiries. --Frank. E-mail: albionfp@hotmail.com
