I am looking for information about James Dearin, parents unknown, born about 1755, and died 13 August 1849 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY. He married, on 15 August 1778, New Hackensack, Dutchess Co., Gertrude Jaycocks, daughter of William Jaycocks and Gertrude Lassing. He was called "a patriot of the Revolution" in one death notice. James and Gertrude had eight children between 1779 and 1797: Charles, Rachel, James, James, William, John, Peter, and Thomas.
