Am researching the Stewart family and am interested in connecting with anyone who may know of or be descended from James & Agnes Deas Stewart, They were married April 1, 1919. I believe they had a daughter Margaret. My father and his brothers also visited this family during the war - sometime around 1942-43.

I would love to see the picture.I have a picture of Adele Auze, but it is in such bad condition you can't make out her face,so I didn't post it. The passenger list also caused me some headaces, as it was incorrectly transcribed as St Johns, Newfoundland. When I looked at the actual image it clearly said St Johns. P.R. I submitted a correction to Ancestry to prevent headaches for other researchers. I still don't know why they were in Puerto Rico for a while, maybe a business venture of some type. Charles Auze was a successful merchant in Mobile. My email is hpjh777@gmail.com

Hello and thank you for the information! I have been searching for some time for informaiton on Serena's daughter Helen Murphy. She built the house in Asheville NC that my husband and I currently own. In fact I grew up here. I know she passed away in either 1918 or early 1919 and I have a copy of the deed where her brother Deas Murphy sold the property in 1919 to CW Brown. We know she built the home in 1914 and had lived is Asheviile for sometime before that. There is a Lee Murphy listed in Asheville around the same time but I have been unable to determine if it Helen's brother or not.
If you have any additional information on Helen or any photos you would be willing to share I would be grateful.

Kind Regards
Just really started checking on the Dees. I have found that Moses was the father of Elizabeth Dees and there was a brother Robert Lee. I believe Robert Lee is buried in Acree, GA and most likely so is Moses. They are on the 1880 census for Dougherty County georgia.
Elizabeth was the 2nd wife of my Great Great Grandpa Allen Ratliff.
This maybe the same family you are looking for.
Delane
Yes, you should be advised of a Deese website. Please ask this man to invite you to his site. The lineage is amazing. My g-g grandmother was Julia Frances Deese Killough of Indian Trail, NC. Through him, I was able to trace all the way back to Scotland. AND, most importantly, he is a very brillant man and very kind. His database is extensive and professional. I will send you his email to contact him and ask him if you may join by providing what information you have on your line to the database, BUT I bet he already has your Deese. I asked him about the Deese of Chesterfield Co., SC and he already has them. He has plotted the entire US by four or five branches of the Deese family. It is great.
Sincerely,
Julie

P.S. Are you saying that your Katie is a descendent of my Pleasant Deese in my Arant Ledger 1805-1890 ledger????
Email me direct at hmarshville@aol.com for Deese email and website. Their are historical documents on the site and photos..old.

The site has archives and a search function.

Why not post a message, then check back from time to time to see what others are posting as well? Someone out there may be looking for you!

Go to www.clanrossassociation.org/USA.htm and click on the "message board" tab.

See you there?

Deas 1860 migrated New River>Nassau

It appears this family was listed 2x in the 1860 census!
First time I've come across that!
James and Sarah Spends Dees with their children
Harriet, Ishom, Elias, Aaron, Jordan, Jane, Joseph and Richard Gilbert are first listed on Aug 4 1860 in the New River Co, FL census and then on the 27th Sept in the Nassau Co., FL census. Some ages altered abit but it sure looks like the same family. When in New River, James had property assets of $300 and $500 personal assets and then when they were recorded in Nassau they had only $300 in personal assets.
Would anyone have any info or links for this family?
I would appreciate any help and glad to share what I have.
Naomi
