LITCHFIELD - Fred Karl DeBarr, 87, of Litchfield died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

He was born Oct. 24, 1917, near Carlinville, the son of Fay and Dorothy Ella Doll DeBarr. He married Dorothy Elnora Roberson in 1945 in Carlinville; she died in 1988. A son, John DeBarr, also preceded him in death.

Mr. DeBarr was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from farming in Zanesville Township in 1994. He was a member of Barnett Christian Church, American Legion Kniery Knagg Post 436 in Litchfield and Macoupin County Farm Bureau in Carlinville.

Survivors: two sons, David (wife, Kelda) and Carl DeBarr, both of Litchfield; daughter, Mary (husband, Lee) Marten of Waggoner; six grandchildren; brother, James DeBarr of Litchfield; and two sisters, Lois Pickett and Irene Blevins, both of Monticello, Ind.

Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Raymond Catholic Church, Raymond, the Rev. Dean Probst officiating. Burial: Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield.

Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
