Does anyone have a copy of the will of Stephen Deblois who died in Boston in 1788? Also would anyone be able to furnish me with the Stephen Deblois information contained in Evelyn deblois Crossman's "Milledge Ancestors"? Stephen came to New York about 1720 and married Anne Furley in New York in 1721. Their sons, Gilbert and Louis, were Loyalists and banished from Boston.

I recently found out that my ggg-grandfather was Bernard DeBlois from Quebec. What I know so far is that his wife was Ellen and they had a daughter named Victoria DeBlois(born abt. 1846 in Quebec). Victoria DeBlois married Barnard Cox (b. 1846 in England) in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario on 04 May 1870. I can provide information on the descendants of Barnard Cox and Victoria DeBlois. I am looking for more information about Bernard DeBlois, his wife Ellen, their family, and their ancestors. Thanks for any help. K. Martello

Thank you for your message. Edmond DeBlois and Melvina Gilbert did have two children that I am aware of: Leon Edmond and Adelene. Leon Edmond married first Edith Gormley and second, Odiele Paradis. Leon and Odiele did not have any children together, but Leon and Edith had three, and Odiele and her first husband (Armidas Sayers) had two.

If I am correct, Adelene married Victor Foisey, and had a son names John? This is from a census record I found.

I do not know much about Edmond and Melvina, but am interested in learning more. I will putter around and see what I can find.

Re: Edmond DeBlois

I have a book that my Grandmother, Adelena, who was leon,s Sister kept. There is a posting in it that say,s they had taken leon to the Essex Sanitorium in Middleton, Mass. for T.B. He was taken sick, June 1, 1932, and it does mention his wife Odelle. Then there is another entry that say,s Dearest Brother leon deBlois Died on Sunday, November 6,1932 at the age of 37 year,s He is Buried in St. Joseph,s Cemetery in Haverhill, Mass. I have the name,s of the Children of Melvina and Edmond, and Birth Date,s, but no information about his marriage to Odelle, although there is another entry that say,s he came to Haverhill from Canada with his thrid wife, Eva In 1928. I know when his wife Melvina died, he deserted their children, and went to Canada. They were placed in relative,s home,s and orphanage,s, and didn't find each other till they were in their teen,s. I remember hearing this, but evidently, Edmond did get back with his Children, at least to visit. Did Odelle and Edmond ever have any children together that you know of? And when did she die? I have tried, but can't seem to find any more about Edmond, except he died in Canada, October 17, 1938, and is Burried up there. melvina died december 26,1909 at the age of 36, and is burried in St.Joseph,s cemetary, in Haverhill, Mass.

Hello, was reading the messages. I am researching my late Mother,s family history, and found a diary of my grandmother,s. Her father,s name was Edmond DeBlois. His first wife, which would be my grandmother,s mother, died on Dec.26,1909, and is burried in Haverhill, Mass. I think my great grandfather went back to Canada, and might have remarried there. He died Oct. 17, 1938 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Montreal, Canada. At age sixty eight. He is burried in Contrecoun? P.I., from what I can make out of this diary. Could he be the same person? If you think there might be a connection, I would love to hear from you. Glowalla1@aol.com

He would have been born abt. 1870. he was married three times, and his last wife,s first name was Eva ???? He left quite a few children in Mass, when his first wife died, and went back to Canada. If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Don't know names of other two wives, but know he had more children by them. He would be my Grandmother,s Father.

Reply to Dena - Thanks for responding. I really
don't have any information other than what I gleaned
from the 1910 Census and birth records. That is
Fred G. DeBlois was born in December 1865 in "Canada"
and was married to Zoe Perreault (there are
different variations of spelling). Fred's father is
Francis and was born approx 1824. Fred and Zoe had
5 children: Fred, Frank, Albert who is my grandfather
census shows name as Herbert), and Mabel. I've
requested birth, death, and SS records. But
can't get anything further. So, if you have anything
close, I'd be most grateful!! Dawne
