I have DeBows of Ontario County, New York in my Ward Family Tree. My Grandfather Ward's sister, Susan Ellen Ward (1857-1936) married (1878) Francis DeBow (1847-1931).

Susan and Francis made their home in the Canandaigua NY area and raised 3 children: John Ward DeBow (born 1880), Fred E. DeBow (born 1882) and Rena Debow Taft (born 1885).

I have this information on son, John Ward:

John Ward DeBow (1880- ), lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, married:
1. (c 1907 in NY) Allie Mae Norton (1886-1970), marriage ended in divorce and both John and Mae remarried
2. (1922 in Hamilton, Ontario) Bernice Couture, French Canadian, born circa 1899
Child:
-Ronald DeBow (with Bernice?), lived in Bramalea, Ont.

Today I found mention of a possible second son, John Rowell DeBow, in a border crossing document at familysearch.org. John Rowell and father John (John Ward?) crossed the border (1944) at Niagara Falls and may possibly have been going to visit DeBow/Taft/Ward relatives in Canandaigua. Aunt Rena DeBow Taft's name is mentioned in the document.

I am hoping someone reading this post will have some further information (B/M/D) on John Rowell DeBow or any other descendant of John Ward DeBow who probably lived out his life in the Hamilton, Ontario area.
