My great great grandfather was James Deck. He
had 2 brothers, George and John. He drifted
into Texas from either Kentucky, Tennesee, or
Missouri. His mother was half cherokee indian
and his father was Reuben Garrett Deck,
possibly from Germany. Reuben joined the
confederate army and was never heard from again.
Grandmother remarried someone by the name of
Jones. James Deck drifted between Texas and
Arizona as a lawman and miner. James Deck
married Rosita Duke in Shafter,Texas in 1897.
He died in Arizona in 1931. Does this sound
familiar to anyone. It was told to one
relative by Jimmy Deck in 1980 at the age of
78. Would like to hear from you if you have
any information on this line that goes back
