BLOOMINGTON — Virgil Johnson, age 77, and his wife, Clonia (Puda) Leveda Johnson, 69, of Bloomington, both passed away. Virgil died Thursday morning in Bloomington Hospital and Clonia died Friday morning in the Monroe Hospital.

Virgil was born October 20, 1930, in Monroe County. He was the son of Ora and Ida May (Foreman) Johnson.

Clonia was born on March 20, 1939, in Monroe County, to the late Walter George and Drotha Dell (Deckard) Hollars. Virgil and Clonia were married on July 6, 1956.

Virgil was retired from Indiana University, where he was a foreman with Physical Facilities. They were both of the Pentecostal faith and loved to travel, hunt, fish and attend church.

Virgil and Clonia are survived by his daughter, Linda and her husband Allen McLemore, of Antlers, Oklahoma. Clonia is also survived by her mother, Drotha Dell Hollars; and her sisters Patsy and her husband, Raymond Sipes, Sarah Sue and her husband who passed away, Robert Charles Pitman, Mary Ellen and her husband, Jerry Fishel, and Nina Hollars, all of Bloomington. She is also survived by her brothers David Lee and his wife, Marvella Hollars, and Larry Hollars and his companion, Melissa. They are also survived by one grandson, Michael Wade Johnson; and three great-granddaughters, Jessica Johnson, Ashlynn Johnson and Michaela Johnson.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lloyd Johnson, Orville Johnson, Cleo Johnson and Glen Johnson; and one sister, Emma Stogsdill.

Clonia was preceded in death by her father, sister Phyllis Hollars and brother Perry Joe Hollars.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Russell Elkins and Harold Godsey officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit the family at Day Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
