I am looking for any information on Anna Marie Deckert, daughter of Adam Deckert and Marie Hahn. She was born around 1874. I believe she either had a brother or uncle names Charles. I have a home made banjo handed down to my by my mother who is from that blood line and it is dated 1894. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Randy Lowry

Hi, Lucy. I hope you are still on this message board! I have been long seeking information about Annie [aka Anna aka Mary Anne] Deckert from Philadelphia. She was born in 1836 and died in 1911. She can't be the Annie in your note, then, but she may be related to your Deckerts. Annie married Georges [aka George] Schaaf [1833-1905], one my my ancestors. We have been told that our Annnie's parents ran a boarding house in Philadelphia.
Annie and George Schaaf had 5 kids: Mary A., Frank E., Anna G., Albert J. and George J.

If you have any information about Annie and her parents, etc., please let me know. Thanks very much, Judy

I don't think you're related to my branch of Deckerts - they emigrated between 1880 and 1892 and stayed in the New York City area. But there are other Deckert families who emigrated earlier from Grossheubach and other towns in Unterfranken in Bavaria and the bordering part of Baden-Württemberg (Tauberbischopsheim)so it may be worthwhile looking in that part of Germany.

Hi Mike,
Richard was born Feb 8, 1920 he passed away in 1977 He was married twice, #1 was Theresa, #2 was Elda .. Now Richard or Wes as he was called, was adopted by Aunt Annie and Uncle Rhodie Rankin because it was to much for George Washington Deckert Sr. to handle he was pretty distraught when Hannah died and overwhelmed with a new baby and the other children. He ended up an alcoholic.

I hope I'm not mistaken, are you asking about Hannah Rankin, or the daughter Hannah?

Hannah Mclane Rankin married George Washington Deckert SR. Feb 24, 1899 by Rev. J.K. Ballie in Philadelphia. They lived at 29 So. 42nd Street, Camden NJ.. I will ask my father inlaw when the family moved to Camden, Since these are his grandparents.

If you are asking about info on Hannah the daughter I will get info for you.. I have b-day and death dates for all the children and names of spouses..

Can you tell me how you are related?

One thing I must ask you.. By any chance would you have info on George Sr's father? The story in our family goes like this; We believe George's father;s name was John..He came from Germany to avoid the the draft there. He married , his wife which we have no name for was scalded to death with water she was using to do laundry with. Now they had 4 children.. Of course our George, then Bill Deckert, John Deckert, and a 1/2 sister Emma Deckert. It is also believed he may have had one of the children when he came from Germany, which one I have no idea..

So again how are you related?

I hope I was of some assistance. Write back

Sonia

I am searching for official records that show that Jacob Deckert/Deckard, Jr. and Sallie Hildonberg/Hillenberg of Wythe County, Virginia were the parents of Adam Deckard (who was the father of John Bea Deckard). Dr. Percy Edward Deckard's book is not official documentation. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

I purchased the photos mentioned in another posting and did some research, this is what I found. Mary Morgan married James Madison Munyon in Aug 1964, Vernon, Michigan. They had six children: Imogene who married Samuel Ewing, Ethel who married Charles Moran, Arthur, Emma, Howard and Lewis. James Madison Munyon was the son of Jesse Munyon and Sarah Ferguson, Jesse was the son of Thomas Jefferson Munyon. Thomas was the son of Richard LeMunyon, who was a son of Thomas LeMunyon and Hester Howard.

Imogene "Jennie" and Samuel Willard Ewing had a daughter Alice Mae who married Perry O. Deckert. Ethel and Charles Moran had a daughter Ruth.

If these people are yours let me know, I would like to get them to more direct family, otherwise, they have a good home. My LeMunyon side comes from Thomas and Hester's son Samuel.
Nancy LeMunyon Hammons

Hello!
I don't know if I can prove ancestry to you, but there are rumors in my family that my grandmother's parents or an uncle moved to SD in the early 1900s because they were either in the country illegally or were fleeing some other crime? Anyway, my grandmother was Frieda Deckert, she married Raymund Born in Maryland, they later moved to PA. I don't have a lot of information on my grandmother's family. Could you tell me if any of this fits?

Their children were Pauline, Gustav, Emile, Otille, Julianne and Augusta; all born between 1875 and 1882 in Poland. Gustav was the father of my mother-in-law Blandina Wilhelmina Deckert who married Rudolf Reschke. They immigrated from Germany to Chicago in 1922-23.

Howdy, cousin! Wilhelm Friedrich Deckert (Changed to William upon arrival in US) m Louisa Rossman in Germany before emmigrating, probably in 1899. They lived in Kane county, and are buried in the Blackburn Cemetery, Elburn, Kane, IL. Other than a pretty complete descendancy of Martha Anna Deckert Williams, my gm, we only have partial details on the family, compiled from an old family bible, census records, etc. There are apparently numerous Deckerts still living in Kane County, IL, but we haven't delved too deeply. Let's see if together we can fill in a few blanks. My e-mail jasonhad@hotmail.com

Not known if they immigrated to America, but may be linked to a Blandina Wilhelmina (Grace) Deckert who married Rudolf Reschke (from Germany/Poland) in 1922 or 1923 in Chicago.
If there's a familial tie, it's much farther back. "Our" Deckert ancestors emigrated from Eastern Prussia (now Poland) in the early 1900's to Dresden, thence to the Elgin Illinois area, and there's no known Gustav in the line-up.
