Seneca Dedmon was my GGG grandfather. An Isaaac Dennett Manley left his estate in Franklin Co., Georgia to Seneca and his sister Evalina (Evoline) in 1812 along with 2 children of Ann Hall. It lists Seneca's mother as Polly Dedmon. I know she has also been referred to as Mary Freeland.
I hope Seneca's connection to Isaac Manley and the Halls may give some clues to help find Seneca's family.

I ended up here by accident when I also did a search for Leonard Gapusan, my father. I have no idea if we are talking about the same man but my dad lived in Garden Grove, CA most of his life I believe and then married my mother Candice. They divorced and he re-married many years later, moved and I haven't seen him since the late 90's. I'm also a Dedmon on my mother's side. Her mother, is Billie Dedmon-Peterson and her grandmother is Zella Dedmon. All three have passed away. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Emma Tennessee Dedmon

I am looking for any information on Emma Tennessee Dedmon married to George Levi Hunsucker of Scott Co. Arkansas. They had one child that I know of (Martha Hunsucker). There seems to be a lot of Dedmon information but not much on Emma. She died young and George remarried. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks!

I've just recently began trying to research info in the hope of locating more about my great grandfather, Thomas F. Hale, and my great grandmother, name unknown. My grandmother was Nettie Hale, daughter to Amanda Dedmon. I last saw Grandma Dedmon around 1968 or 1969. I later relocated to California and never knew when she died, since my only contact for that information would have been my grandmother who died 6 years (?) before her mother.
I am, however, still interested in learning anything you or anyone who might have some knowledge to point me in the right direction. My great Aunt Mabel Screws, also daughter to Amanda, still lives in the Spanish Fort (near Holly Bluff) area, as well as my brother, Mike.
I know it's been almost six months since your message, but I do hope you get this note.
It will be nice to know of other extended family out there.

I lived in Sharkey Co.with my Grandparents Tommie Lee and Nettie Hale until I married in 1968. Nettie died in 1971 and Tommie Lee in 1983. The last time I saw Grandma Dedmon, that I recall, was probably around 1968 or 1969. I lived in Bill's home for a brief time in late 1965 while I attended Hinds Jr. College.
My main reason for this response is to try and find out more about my Grandfather's mother and father. I cannot locate any info on the internet and was excited to see your message board - I thought you might be able to shed some light or point me in the right direction.
My brother, Mike, still lives on the homesite of our grandparents, but has refurbished their home quite extensively.
Thank you for your message it has brought back fond memories.

While doing a google search on my family name, I found that one of your ancestors is a Leonard Gapusan. This is a very ethnic Filipino name and rare in the Southeast. I was raised in South Carolina and as far as I know, my father and his family are the only Gapusan's that we have been able to track in the continental United States. There are a number of Gapusan's in Hawaii, but they are distant relatives.

I would be happy to hear any history you may have on Leonard or share what I can that may lead you to learn more about him.
I have a book titled "True Memories-The Condrys 1844-1942.
Written by R.B. Condry. His parents were Henry Clay Condry-Alabama, Sept. 15, 1844 & Sara M. London Condry-Georgia, Sept. 8, 1849. The book also lists their 18 other children, their birth & some dates of death. Makes mention of Eller Condry married to D.R. Dedmon. This is more of the life of R.B. (Russell Blevins) Condry. He was very much into music and how & places music schools started - in Oklahoma, some I think in Ark. or Mo. (not totally sure of that). The back of the book has songs, spiritual, that R.B. wrote and some pictures in the back. If this family fits anyone - e-mail me directly and I will try to find all the informaiton from the book that might be helpful to your search. lindagmurphy@msn.com

Hi, I'm sorry this post is so late. Nettie Kettleman was adopted by my Great-Grandmother, Amanda Jones Kettleman Dedmon. Aunt Nettie was married to Tommy Hale of Spanish Fort. Momma Dedmon was married twice. First to "Mr. Kettleman" and then to Grampa Frank Dedmon. I'm not sure why Aunt Nettie was adopted but I think she was from family.

My Mother is Matt Pugh Grant. Her mother was Bill Pugh (given name was Willie Eodis Dedmon, married Ernest Pugh). She still owns a few acrers in Spanish Fort that sits between Mike Hale's (Aunt Nettie and Uncle Tommy's) place and the pond. It is accross the road from Ginny Watson's house.

I haven't been up there is years but I think Roy Watson has something to do the farming or leasing of the land.

That's all I can think of.

Thanks for posting.
