Essex/Suffolk Deeds
Hi, i am a decendant of the Deed family that lived (at least for a time) in Essex.

I have hit a bit of a wall, i know there are quite a few Deed's in Essex, and i know others have traced the family as moving from Norfolk/Suffolk to Essex and that a name change occured around this point from Dade to Deed,

What i dont know is if and how my line ties in with this, i have gone as far back as John Deed who was born abt 1792 (abt1800 in some cen) Wallasea (also spelt Wallis Isl) Island, and married Mary Ann (Turner?) and then lived in Steeple and raised a family.

Now i can't seem to go back any further..
Does anyone know of any other Deed ties to east and south essex? or perhapse know some more details about the history and movement of the Deed family from Suffolk to Essex?
Dell, I'm not sure if we haven't been in contact in the past but i am happy to share the info i have and to compare notes etc. Getting back further than Edward is difficult but by making a few assumptions and "believing" some of the info shared by others i was able to trace back to English royalty for which there is a modicam of truth based on a newspaper article published in New Zealand many years back. My email is richarddoig@internode.on.net
Regards Richard

Thanks. Yes i had the info that Herbert died in the Bendigo Base Hospital 11 April 1938 and is buried in Wedderburn Cemetery Vic. His death certificate was difficult to trace because of incorrect spelling on his death registration
Cheers

It seems as though there are many people researching this family and it seems a shame that we can't share some of this info. Not sure how far you have progressed but it does seem a difficult task to go back further than Robert Deed. I do have information on Edward and his descendants if you care to contact me

My wife is a descendant of Edward Deed and Esther Perry.
I have an interesting list (from an unknown source) which shows ancestry from Edward back to 13th century English royalty. I am struggling to find supporting evidence.

DEED, DEEDE, DEEDES

Attempting to learn where my ggg. g/m., Esther Job Deed, may have come from. Born c. 1765, m. Alexander Marr in New Brunswick, Canada c. 1790. She may have come from England or from the American Colonies with the United Empire Loyalists, 1783-'84. There were Deedes in NY/NJ prior to the Revolutionary War. I'm told her middle name, Job, may provide a clue? Any leads, however remote, appreciated.
