Tina M. (Dowell) Deem 1874-1959, burial in Linn Co., Missouri

Tina M. Deem (1874-1959), wife of John Deem, is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Linn Co., Missouri. Missouri death certificates online shows that Tina's parents were Z. T. Dowell and Nancy Barnes, who are connected to my family. A 1903 document shows Nancy Deam will inherit from the estate of Zachary T. Dowell. When Nancy's step-mother died in 1941, she is shown as Nancy Deen. I think this evidence points to Nancy Deam, Deen, and Tina M. Deem as being the same person. Anyone happen to know anything further? Thanks!

STRUTHERS, OH – Clifford W. Deem Sr., 66, died Nov. 22, 2011, at his residence.

Cliff was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Clifford Deem and Mable Lilac Popovich.

A Struthers High School graduate, Mr. Deem worked at Republic Rubber, and later went on to be the owner of the Falcon Station in Struthers from 1972 to 1977.
He most recently was self employed in electric, plumbing, and heating. Cliff was a member of the Lions Club and Struthers Business Association.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on the USS Yorktown.

He is survived by a son, Cliff (Sherri) Deem of Struthers, OH; two daughters, Gerri (Hosea) Hostetler of Darlington, Pa. and Dorrie (Shawn) Dilla of Youngstown; three brothers, John (Dee) Deem of Struthers, Lynn (Melanie) Deem of Canfield,Ohio and Joseph (Laurie) Popovich of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Jackie and Andy Deem, Jacob Scott, David and Danielle Smith and Tina Renner; and two great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Jackie Deem; and a grandson, Matthew Deem.

There were no services or calling hours.

Arrangements were handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.

ok here goes my grandmothers name Grace E mercer her sister is Sheila May Serris,I do not know if Goldie was married to either ones father but she married Albert Kenneth Johnson no birth or death or marriage date he Adopted both girls into his name as far as we were told. thats is all I know My grandmother did not talk about family ever

I've been researching Cyrus Deem for several years. He said he was born in Lancaster Co. PA in 1833. He said his father was Wm and he didn't know his Mother's name. Lore has it that he was bound out at an early age and ran off ending up in Vincennes, IN.
He hasn't appeared in any of the german--Diehm, Diem or Deems--lines. My research leads to Gap, PA in Salisbury Twp.,Lancaster Co. This is a settlement of Scots-Irish. I found several surnames Deem in Southern England.
Anybody know about this boy?

Not sure if this will help, I found Missouri Rose father info. His name was Dayton H. Turner born 1837 Ohio. his wife Mary J. Unknown he was a farmer in Parkersburg WVa.there was a brother to Missouri. Benjamin Franklin Turner he died in Wood WVa. 17 July 1958 Its a start.

I am looking for any information for John Arthur Deem. He is my Grandmothers brother. The son of Jehu Deem and Anne Ruble. John was born 24 Jan 1865 at Wood Co.WVa. Married 14 July 1888 at Pellyville Wood Co West Virginia. His bride was Missouri Rose Turner.. I have them on the 1920 census. Where did they go after that????

We did come from Germany. Are name was spelled Diehm. I now have documents from Germany and a contact there also and I hope I can find they connection between all of them.

From my somewhat limited research and what I recall being told as a child, was that our ancestry is English, Scottish and Irish. Therefore, I've "assumed" my father's Deem ancesters were from the British Isles.
I've been told "Diehm" is from the German ancesters.
My grandfather, Charles M. Deem was born in Reading, PA in 1876, but I have yet to find where his parents were from (even tho census records show they, too, were born in PA).

Hi! This is pretty cool ~ my soon-to-be-ex-husband is also Clayton Roscoe Deem! We haven't seen one another in years, just never got legally divorced. Did he go by the name of *Squid* when you were together?
Last I heard he's doing pretty well. We lived here in Tampa for years, but he left for parts west around 2000 or so; think he settled in the Southwest. We had lived in Phoenix for a while and I know he liked it out there.
BTW: his other sister's name is Jean, but I've lost touch w/her over the years too. I never met Kerry, but did speak w/him on the phone a few times in the 1990s.

Looking for anyone with info on: Charles M. DEEM (polisher), Mary L. DEEM (dressmaker), Sophia DEEM (wid of Charles M.), 636 Penn, Reading, PA per 1898-1901 Boyd's Reading (D) City Directory.

My grandfather, Charles Miller DEEM, b: 17 Mar 1876, lists Mary Deem, Reading, PA as his mother on Army enlistment documents. His death cert lists Sophia Deem as mother, Charles M. Deem as father.

My grand farther was Arthur DEEM born gaydah and then move to Maryborough Q

The late relative names I have are John DEEM, George DEEM and there is a James DEEM

There where five brothers and a father and mother that came to Australia in the 1870s form Heroforshire UK on a Ship called the Glemorgan shire to Maryborough port

Info about this ship is at bond store museum wharf st Maryborough Queensland.

They then moved to Gaydah qld

I beleive there is a Ambraham DEEM in Maryborough

The late Jim DEEM also lived here

I also had Richard Deem as a teacher.

My family came from the uk approx 5 generations ago 1870
The name I have are John DEEM and George DEEM, they left Herofordshire uk and came to Australia On the Genmorganshire ship in the 1870 to the port of Maryborough Queenland Australia, they then when to Gayndah queensland,

In the 1950 my grandfather Arthur Deem brought the family back to Maryborough Qld

My father is Allan DEEM and my mother is Gwenda DEEM

The story we have there where five brothers that came to Australia. in the 1870s I beleive one of the other brothers was James DEEM

There is also a Amborose DEEM in Maryborough

hey, I too was told after my family came from Germany they changed the spelling of the name. I can't remember it, but my aunt might. My grandfather had 21 brothers and sisters and lived in the northeast part of the U.S. His name was Claremont Deem. His father was in the Civil War when he was 15 as a drummer boy. We're probably related.

Would you happen to have any information on who Jacob Deem's son Juniper was named for? My ancestor, Juniper Hall Sr b 1769, is a DNA match for a Henry Hall who was born abt 1774 in Hagerstown, Md. Since Juniper is an unusual name, perhaps there is some connection. These Halls have a Va connection also. We're looking for the ancestors of these Halls.

My paternal grandfather, Charles Miller Deem, b: Mar 17, 1876; d: Feb 4, 1940. 1910 Census list family POB as PA; 1920 and 1930 Census list family POB as PA, but his POB as SD. To date, I have not been able to 'verify' his PA family. He registered to vote in 1905 in Globe, AZ, but I have been unable to connect any link to his PA family.

A sister recalls our grandmother saying he had run away from home and that he had siblings.

Hi would be very interested to see some of the data relating to the descendants of Thomas Deem, I very well may be one. I live in Smallridge the next parish to Chardstock my grandfather Charles Deem lived in Alston in-between Chardstock and Smallridge.

Looks like we are related couz. But that's not the family names as far as brothers, etc that I have: I could be wrong. He would be my great grandfather. His son Wesley was my grandfather. Anything I find I will let you know. I thought his parents were Wesley and Elizabeth from Wirt Co. WV.

LYLE BURTON DEEM Passed away on October 24, 2007, in Riverside, California, where he lived for 42 years. He was born on September 30, 1933, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He served in the US Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as a X-ray specialist for 2 years ending in 1958. He worked in medical sales for 24 years, during which time he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University. He became a well known Real Estate Broker/ Agent in the Riverside-Moreno Valley area and served two terms as President, Board of Realtors. He retired in 2006. He also served as President of the Loma Linda Lopers Running club for several years. His hobbies included photography and restoring cars, but his passion for running was the driving force in completing numerous races from 10K's to ultra marathons. He was an active member of the La Sierra University Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as a deacon and devoted himself to many church related activities. He was a loving husband and father, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Donna L. Deem; daughters, Cherisse Deem of Murrieta, CA; Stacey Wyman of Paradise, CA, and Joan Deem of Riverside, CA. Grandchildren include, Zachary Wyman, Jaime Wyman, Nicholas Booker and Greg Booker.
