I am a full blooded Deen from Sierra Leone, West Africa. My Father, Arnold Deen died when I was Just about 2 years, now I am 25. I came to the US three years ago. I realized that there are many Deens here but I wonder why i always feel like a castaway without no relatives or family members here. I believe I have the same Deen blood flowing in my veins, despite the fact that I am from Africa! I learned from history that many freed slaves were taken to Freetown, the capital of my country, and settled there. Maybe, my great great grandparents were among.
I am here pursuing a career on my own. It is sure difficult especially when my link back home had been destroyed by a 10 years of civil war. I need a someone i can relate to with the same blood, sharing the precious feeling of belonging in the same family and having the same ancestors.
