I was one who thought Jeremiah Sage, born in 1837, was a son of Jeremiah and Margaret McDougal. However, I finally found Jeremiah and Margaret's marriage record. They were married 07 Oct 1842 in Jackson County, Indiana. Jeremiah's name is listed as Jeremiah Sagedeen instead of Jeremiah Sage Deen. Jeremiah and Margaret Deen are listed on the 1850 Jefferson County, Indiana census. Living with them at that time are Mary McDougal born 1817 in Kentucky and Hannah McDougal born 1827 in Indiana. I believe these two women are Margaret's sisters. Have theory that their parents are James McDougal and Elizabeth Giltner. James McDougal and Elizabeth Giltner were married 09 Dec 1814 in Fayette County, Kentucky. James McDougal is listed on the Jefferson County, Indiana census from 1820 to 1840. Their were many Giltners in the area as well. Both Hannah and Margaret give identical information for their parents states of birth on the 1880 census as well. Virginia for their father and Pennsylvania for their mother. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
