I do have a James Lake as a brother of John (married to Elizabeth Sharrard) but according to my direct decendant Hagerman source, this James (b 1794)was married to an Elizabeth Hagerman.
Also, I have the date of death for the father of John and James (Nicholas) as "before 1807". If this is correct then it is doubtful that the James (b 1812) married to Eliza Dean is his son or therefore John's brother.
Goodness knows there are a lot of errors in my database, could this be one of them? I presently have James (b 1812) as a son of John and Elizabeth Sharrard.
