Hi Sandy,

I noticed you are researching the Deere family... I am also a decendant of the Deere family from Bridgend I believe, also some were from Aberdare (I think).

My Mother is Janet Hollis, the Daughter of Edith (Deere) and Brian Hollis. Ediths Mother was Florence Ada Griffiths who was married to Thomas Deere from Aberdare. I believe he was born in 1898 and had 4 brothers (Steven, Edward, David and Mervin). I think from family history that Thomas' father died in a mining disaster at Senghenydd in 1913 (I may be wrong about this though) Thomas' wife was Annie but I am unsure about the rest.....

It would be great if you were able to help me at all.... If you would like to check out my tree you will see that I've managed to get back a LONG way with my fathers side of the family but I'm struggling with the Deere's (there are so many of them!!!!!)

If it helps, my gran has lots of Siblings - Sophie, Tommy, Mervin, George to name but a few....

Love to hear from you.

Anthony Horrobin :-)
