Hi Mal, thank you very much for this.

My Grandpa, who is now deceased, had the surname Deere and his family is from South Wales, he is, by a number of years, the youngest of his siblings, and I didnt get the chance to look into the family ties when he was around, I am now trying to find out a bit of family history.

Lucy Deere Herr

I am seeking information on Lucy Herr, who was born in Oregon in 1865 or 1866. Her maiden name may have been Deere. On the 1920 census, she lived in Oklahoma City and was listed as the "half-sister" of my great grandfather, David Donaldson. To my knowledge, he had no half-sister and he was apparently separated from his wife at the time. Her occupation was listed as "artist." It appears that she spent her later years on the west coast, in Washington and California.

To:Anthony Deere
Your father and Uncle are on my family tree. My great grandfather was Thomas Deere from St. Bride's,Wales. They had 13 children, one was Edward Samuel Deere father of Sidney and Arthur and 6 other children and also Edward's brother, my grandfather, Bertram Albert Deere. My father Cyril Thomas Deere died in 2002. He would have been your father's first cousin. That makes you and I second cousins. Isn't genealogy fun. Please contact me if you would like any information about the Deere family that I have.

Hi Evalee,
I just came across a post you made on Ancestry in 2001. In case this gets through to you, my name is Phillip Deere, the son of Amos Deere. Ed Deere was my father's half brother. They had the same mother. I only saw Uncle Ed one time. That was about 1950. Do you know of any of his children that are still living?

Phillip Deere

'My' Patrick had a brother 'Terence' who also went to Pittsburgh plus neices and nephews followed. How do you access your Census? For help try 'connorsgenealogy.com'. My maternal grandmother was 'Deere' and both sides of my mother's family came from a radius of about 15 miles in Co. Limerick. Rosaleen

I can't belive you answered, I just happen to look at this site. I am beginning to think that there is a connection between Terence & Patrick Deere I believe Terence came here first, Looking at the census all the names in Terrance's family are the same names in Patrick's family. I see that Terrance is frim the same location and in the same church. Do you know their parents names and if any relatives are in Ireland? Please answer back I'am so excited because I just couldn't find Patrick's past. I'am going to look at the IGA again and get the information for Terence. I will send you thw census for both of the above when I find out how let me hear from you. Pat

DEERE family in Tipperary / Limerick (Ireland)

Hi, I'm looking for info on a MARY DEER(E) who was my great-great-grandmother. Mary Deere was probably born in the 1840's, and she married Francis Blake (possibly in Limerick) probably in the 1860's, producing a daughter Mary Margaret Blake, who ended up living in Kings Island, Limerick, in 1887, when she married Joseph Ward (a soldier stationed at Limerick Castle). It would seem reasonably likely that Mary Deere may have originated from the Co Limerick (Doon) / Co Tipperary cluster of Deeres, and that she moved to the nearest big town - Limerick ( and particularly as I dont seem to have tracked down any Limerick-town-based Deeres) Many thanks.
