I'm very interested in this Deering family of Tullamore. Do they have a long history in the area?
I have an 18th century Henry Cary (1717-1796) of Portarlington who married Mary Deering in 1742 in St Mary's, Dublin. She died before 1756.
According to the Dublin Gazette, she was a young lady of great beauty, merit and a fortune of ₤5000 sterling, but, oddly, no mention is made of her family.
As Tullamore is not far from Portarlington, I wondered if there might be a connection.
