No one I know has found Allen sr.'s parents. I still live just a few miles from where he is buried and have searched all the local documents as well as everything I can find on the Internet. He seems to have appeared in Stanly Co. about the same time as Charles Deese, but when Charles and family moved west, Allen stayed. I was convinced that he was Charles' son and stayed behind when they moved, but I found lists of Charles' children on several Internet sites and there was no Allen. Someone suggested that he might be kin to Charles's wife, Esther, since she was a Deese too. I haven't been able to trace that lead either. Charles, by the way, was the son of Richard Deese of SC. If we could tie Allen into Charles' family, we could tap onto plenty of Deese research.
