I wish I had more information! One of the reasons I'm posting. I've recently become interested in persuing the research again. The information I have comes from my aunt who did the original research. The documentation is pretty solid back to Allen Deese. I have copies of her handwritten notes that say that Charles Dees, one of the sons of Emanuel Dees, (b. 1785, d. after 1850) moved to Stanley Co, N.C. about 1810 with his brother Richard Dees.
Apparently this comes from 1830 Montgomery Co. N.C. Census (pg. 79). He was married to Esther ? and had 2 sons, Bryant, and Allen. My aunt's notes then reference NC 1830 pg. 86 which I assume ( I have not seen this record) links this Allen with my ancestor Allen Dees through his son James A. Dees. I have a photo copy of Allen Dees' will listing James A. Dees.
Like I said, I've gotten curious lately and had thought about starting to research this again, but it's been a while since I've done any genealological research so I'm going to have learn how to do it all over again!
Again, any help you can offer I would be grateful for!
