KANNAPOLIS -- Esther Deese Cox, 93, a resident at Best of Care, formerly of Brantley Road, died Monday (Feb. 14, 2005) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born June 3, 1911, in Moore County, Mrs. Cox, a daughter of the late George and Annie Reynolds, retired after 40 years from Cannon Mills Plant one wash cloth department.

An active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she was in the Exodus Sunday School Class.

Survivors include daughters Pat James and Sandra Chapman, both of Kannapolis; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Lady's Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jim Yow and the Rev. Sarah Weaver. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation: 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter Sandra Chapman, 1851 Wetherburn Drive.
