Hi I've seen your post and i am julien de fauw, my grandfather was modest de fauw, he was in de cavalry in ww1, his sone, my father's name is roger de fauw. maybe this can help you.

I have the genealogy that you did in 1969 on the Defauw's and you mailed me all the lineage. My name then was Gochee.
I am very curious to know what my grandmother Maria DeFauw Rodts died of and if you have any more info on the Ediel Rodts heritage. Where did he come from and who were his brothers and sisters.

Have you ever contacted Gilbert Rodts?

I travelled in Belgium a few years ago and stayed at a Brussels hotel and acquired some Rodts surnames from the phone directory and contacted them by mail but just heard from Gilbert only. There were also lots of DeFauw names.

I am decended from the Poelvoorde family from Ruiselede (Ruysselede), West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Petrus and Elodie Poelvoorde. I would have to assume that Petrus is related to Amelia. He settled in the Quad Cities too. It would be great to find out how they are related.

Roy DeFauw, son of Cyriel and Kathryn VanDeVoorde DeFauw, Cyriel, son of Richard and Louisa DePoorter DeFauw, Richard, son of Joannes Baptiste and Rosalie Corym DeFauw, Joannes son of Peter Joseph and Isabella Rose DeWult, Peter son of Norbertus Albert Hubert and Isabella Rabeccae VanLaere DeFauw, Norbertus son of Francois and Joanna Catharina DeBacker DeFauw, Francois sone of Anthonius and Joanna DeFuijt DeFau (spelling becomes a bit abbreviated at this point), Anthonius or Antonii son of Willem Or Buillaume and Cornelia DeSmet deFau (as I have it spelled), Willem was the son of Willem and Petronella Valentyn deFau. Do any of these names coincide with yours? I have Anthonius born 1678 or 1679. My dad's people were mainly from Ruiselede West Flanders Belguim. My grandfather, Cyriel was one of twelve children: Maria, Leonie, Elodie, Valarie, Achiel, Sidonie, Cyriel, Theophiel, Adiel, Madeleine, Baziel and Elza. Send me some of your names and hopefully we can come up with a common thread! Wouldn't that be great!

I trace my lineage back to Joannes Franciscus deFauw whose wife was Amelia Poelvoorde, married 11 June 1835 in Ruysselede; son: Bruno deFauw, DOB 9 Jan 1839, married Philomena Verbeke. I see similar family names in your postings.
Does anyone have more info on my branch? My grandmother was Irma Z deFauw Desseyn.

My mothers maiden name was DeFauw,Godelieve and her father was Gustaf Defauw, my mother had 1 sister Angela and her brothers were Gerald, Lucien,Julian,Emery,Cyriel, Albert and the oldest brother was Marcel. Marcel was born in Belgium and moved to USA Gerald, Lucien and Julian stayed in Belgium and the Mother Emily came to Belgium with Godelieve, Cyriel, Albert, Emery and they all lived in Southern Ontario. All have passed away. They all lived in Wingene, Belgium

We have a connection! Richard and Maria Louisa DePorter DeFauw had 12 children: Maria, Leonie, Elodie, Valarie, Achiel, Sidonie, Cyriel, Theophiel, Adiel, Madeleina, Baziel, and Elza. My husband, John Almquist, is Elza deFauw Almquist's grandson. I would appreciate any info you could pass on--we have three daughters who I am sure will want it one day. And I'm curious now. I haven't much time to devote to geneology right now, but I have not been able to find any records re: Elza other than the 1930 census.

My name is Joann (Defauw) Jeanette My dad was Julien Defauw he passed away Dec. 13 2001. I have been tring to find all of his family from Belgium as he did talk about everyone when I did have the chance to get out to visit. He always talked about going back to see everyone and I was supposed to go with him once. I was given a list that just had grandma, grandpa and all my aunts names on it. I just got in contact with my cousin Kathleen who is my aunt Elza's grand daughter. i would like to get to know everyone since Dad talked about his family when I got the chance to see him. Knowing my family history would be great. I am sorry you guys did not hear of my fathers passing in 2001 We did try to contact as many as we could get a hold of in hopes that you were all still in contact and would let each other know. 2 brothers of modest are imegrated to usa,

I am the granddaughter of Cyriel DeFauw who was a brother to Achiel DeFauw. Maria Louisa DeFauw was the oldest of the family born 7 DeCember 1885 in Ruiselede Belguim. The rest of the children are:
Leonie Emma married Gustaf Henri DeGeeter
Elodie died at age 2
Valarie married Basil Octaaf DeWaelsche
Achiel Joseph married Irma Clemence Wyckhuys
Sidonie Elodie married Aloise Lava
Cyriel Alfred married Kathryn VanDeVoorde
Theophiel married Flavia Coeman
Adiel Alois never married
Madeleina Brigettade married Alfons VanDeVoorde
Baziel Henri never married died at 3 months
Elza Margaretha married Clarence Almquist
My grandparents, Cyriel and Kathryn had seven children and settled into farming in midwest Illinois. They had seven children, one of whom is me! Would love to correspond with you as I have a notebook of information.

Maria Louise Rodts would have been my grandmother. My dad was the youngest son of she and Adiel. I'm travelling to Belgium around the city where I think Maria & he were born which is Ruiselede, Belgium. I would like to find out info and how to go about Finding those records. I've been searching and was ?. My dad's uncle was Achiel DeFauw, his mother's brother.

Maria (or Marie) DeFauw born 12/7/1885 in Belgium, married Adiel Rodts. I believe they were married in America as all the children were born here. I am looking for information on Maria's parents. Her mother's name was Louise DePorter. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My grandmother Anna Defauw was the first to be born here, from her line. Her father was Camiel DeFauw, mother Marie LaCluyse.
