John Francis Stanley was born in Canada and was a son to John Francis Degen who was one of Canada's home children. Grandfather (William Degen)remembers John Francis Stanley as Uncle Stan who was a brother, I believe to my Great Grandfather Charles Nelson Degen. According to their Attestation papers when they volunteered for WW 1 John Francis was born in England and John Francis Stanley was born here in Canada, with JF listed as his next of kin (Father). John Francis married Adeline and lived in Peterborough.
