Herman Degen, 76, Dies Here At His Home This Morning
Herman Degen, age 75, a life-long resident of this city, died at 6 a.m. today at his home, 1117 Kentucky Avenue.
Mr. Degen was born in this city, June 22, 1859. For a period of thiry-eight years he was employed at the Sheboygan Chair Company, then at the Northern Furniture company and later at the Lakeside Craft shop. He retired in 1931.
Forty-two years ago, Mr. Degen was united in marriage to Anna Fetting, who with one daughter, Mrs. M. J. Brown, two grandsons, and Mr. Degen's sister, Mrs. Mary Lau, all of this city, survives.
Private funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ramm Funeral Home. The Rev. E. H. Oppermann of the Ebenezer Reformed Church will officiate and burial will be made at the Wildwood Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Ramm Funeral Home from Thursday noon until the time of services.
